Away from my career in marketing strategy, I started blogging about our family walks and days out as a hobby. As the blog has grown, Muddy Boots Mummy is now a go to site for many Yorkshire parents, looking for inspiration to get their children outdoors. A third of site traffic is direct; hundreds of families heading straight to the blog to find information.

Over a quarter of my site traffic comes from organic searches, where I consistently rank on the first page for many of Yorkshire’s favourite family walks.

A Snapshot of the Monthly Reach

The Muddy Boots Mummy Audience

Over a third of traffic to the blog comes through social media channels, although followers frequently engage with content without visiting the blog itself (particularly on Instagram). Engagement is evident through comments, messages and click through rates on stories.

Whilst my Facebook page is used primarily to drive site traffic, I share my everyday life on Instagram, with nearly 1 in 5 of my followers engaging with my stories daily (over half of readers regularly click through to mentions/ tags).
